Lingmo RESTful APIs

  • Lingmo Translation API is an automated translation software leveraging AI that translates content in Realtime into 80 languages. We help companies interact with their foreign speaking consumers. Our customised solution can translate text to text, speech to text, text to speech and speech to speech. 

  • Our translation API is being used by different industries globally to perform Realtime translations. We work with tourism, hotels, airlines, theme parks, media companies, banks and more and deliver custom developed solutions to help those businesses interact with foreign speaking consumers. 

  • Our solution supports integration in we, desktop, mobile, IoT, AR and VR applications. It has a RESTFul interface with OAuth 2.0 security.

  • Lingmo translation API leverages AI and our own Neutral Machine Translation. Our custom-built translation architecture has been developed to recognise the subsets required for Realtime contextual translation that detect nuances, slang and native dialects as well as grammar and punctuation. 

  • Lingmo has several systems in places to continually manage and ensure consistent accurate translations are delivered to our customers. Our audit system checks for accuracy, fluency, terminology, grammar and contextual understanding. Asides from the AI always learning and becoming smarter the more it is used, we also continually perform enhancements to improve the accuracy and translations.

  • Yes, we can customise our system to meet your business needs and train our software to recognise industry specific terminology. For more information about this, please contact us.

  • Lingmo RESTFul API is subscription-based translation service. We provide a transparent usuage model so you know exactly what you are being charged for. We don’t charge extra for different languages; all languages get the same level of service. 

  • No, our subscription model is priced per single chatbot. If you have more than one chatbot you will need to purchase an individual subscription for each chatbot.

Lingmo Translate for Zoom Chat

  • Ideally yes if you want to receive and send multilingual chats. If only the host has the Lingmo Translate for Zoom Chat downloaded they will be able to receive and send translated chats. Particpants that do not have Lingmo Translate downloaded will not be able to reply using Lingmo Translate.

  • Yes. The host is able to select the language for all the individual participants in a chat. They do this by clicking on the participant’s name and typing “/lingmo yourlang” and then can select the language.

  • The command “/lingmo {command}” activates the translation for the users. If the “/lingmo” command is not typed, the translation will not happen and the chat will be sent as a normal chat.

  • Please check you have registered, received an active authorisation code  and copied that into your Zoom account.  For the translation to work,  “/lingmo” {followed by a command} must be used at the start of each individual message/chat. If you have not downloaded Lingmo Translate the “/lingmo” command will be invalid.

  • Currently we have 80 languages to choose from. The Zoom host and participants can select their own languages to chat in. See our full list of languages here

  • No, our subscription model is priced per host/ per account. However, your monthly subscription will work when you are both a host and a participant in another chat group.

Translation for LiveChat 

  • Lingmo Translate for LiveChat is a translation integration that enables you to chat to the customers in their native language in Realtime. It is available for current LiveChat customers and can be integrated from the LiveChat Marketplace.

  • The integration seamlessly works for both your LiveChat agents and your customers. Your customer’s message is automatically translated into your agents preferred language. Your agent can easily respond to the message. Their reply is instantly translated back into the customers native language.  

  • Log into your LiveChat account and head to the LiveChat marketplace. Search Lingmo Translate for LiveChat and proceed to follow the implementation instructions.

  • It is simple to get started. Once you have integrated and activated the translation integration, you will be able to start translating chats. 

  • All of the translation happens in Realtime so your agents don’t need to stop their workflow to decode and translate the conversation. The translation is simultaneous allowing your agents to interact with multiple customers even if they sent messages in different languages. Your agent will always receive the chats in their preferred language. 

  • The cost of the integration is $32USD per agent/per month. This gives your agent and your consumers unlimited access to all Lingmo’s 80 languages, AI-powered contextual understanding of each conversation and realtime translation of your customer support tickets.

  • Yes, Lingmo Translator is Free! We offer a free version and paid versions via subscription model. Unlike other translation plugins, we use our own Lingmo API’s and own AI powered translation software. We don’t limit the languages you can translate between with the free and paid versions. Our paid versions are based on the number of words translated per month.

  • The Free version and paid version offer the same multilingual capabilities. Both offer 80 languages for websites to be translated into, both leverage AI contextual translations and both translate webpages into Realtime. The Free version has a limited word count and to extend these a paid version is required.

  • Nothing. We take care of those and it will all happen automatically. Any updates won’t affect your usage.

  • If you go over your word limit during the month, we will automatically upgrade you to the next plan so your website can keep being translated. You will be charged pro-rata and we will notify you via your customer portal. To find out more, click here.

Voice Messaging Translation

  • Talk2You is a voice messaging platform that translates messages between users that speak another language. The  iOS and Android application enables cross border communication to happen without language barriers. This platform is widely used by businesses with an international presence.

  • Download the application onto your smart phone. Simply speak into the phone (in your native language) and send the voice message to your chosen recipient. The voice message will be translated and delivered to the recipient in their native language. The recipient can return the message and it will be delivered back in the other users native language for them to hear.

  • Like a SMS, once the message has been sent, it will appear in the chat screen you have with the recipient. They will be able to see the screen like yours except their message notifications will show in their native language.

  • Yes, Talk2You has been designed to be sent to people in different countries. As long as there is an active internet connection your recipients can receive voice messages anywhere in the world.

  • We have designed this software to send/receive message in Realtime, so it stimulates a real face to face conversation. However, poor internet connection will hinder the speed of receiving and sending messages so therefore we recommend you have an active 4G/5G or Wi-Fi connection or use Lingmo Travel Sim in your smart device if you are travelling internationally.

  • Yes, using a combination of AI and Lingmo’s custom built translation software, Talk2You can detect many nuances, slang and dialects. It is recommended that the input is clear and concise to result in the best translation being received.

  • No, Talk2You always requires an active network connection to enable contextual and accurate translations. Lingmo do not offer an offline translation service because translations are poor quality.

  • This is great feature for people who need to get a voice message out to a large group of people located around the world who speak different languages.  After creating a group chat, a single voice message is translated into each of the user’s native language to enable them to hear the message. There can be up to 1000 people in a group chat at one time and users are identified by their username in the chat!

Transcription

Lingmo Transcription

  • Lingmo Transcription is an automated transcription service that transcribes audio files into any of our 80 text languages. You can now contextually and accurately transcribe WAV and MP3 files into text files. This service can be used via our custom-built interface. 

  • The WAV or MP3 files are uploaded into our Lingmo Transcription system and transcribed into the desired text language.

    Our custom-built translation architecture has been developed in combination with our speech recognition software to detect the speaker’s nuances, slang and native dialects. This enables the transcription to be accurately and consistently transcribed.

    Lingmo transcription leverages AI, our speech recognition technology and our own Neutral Machine Translation to recognise the subsets required for Realtime contextual transcription and translation. 

  • Lingmo currently support 29 voice languages and 80 text languages plus hundreds of languages pairs. Our system enables you to transcribe in 29 voice languages and up to 80 text languages. You don’t need to only translate/transcribe from/to English either, our system can transcribe between other language pairs too.

  • Our software transcribes in Realtime. However, it will be dependent on the quality of the input audio file. If there is any distortion in the speech, background interference or video quality the transcription may take longer because the quality of the file is something Lingmo cannot control.

  • Lingmo Translate is an iOS and Android application that allows the user to Translate between 29 different languages in Text to Text, Speech to Text, Text to Speech and Speech to Speech.

  • Lingmo Translate is free download. The first 20 translations free. Thereafter the service goes onto a monthly subscription plan of USD $1.99 a month for unlimited translations. Cancel at anytime.

  • Yes, Talk2You has been designed to be sent to people in different countries. As long as there is an active internet connection your recipients can receive voice messages anywhere in the world.

  • Yes, Lingmo Translate requires an active network connection in order to function. This includes a Wi-Fi network, SIM card or other mobile devices Hotspot.

  • Yes, using a combination of IBM Watson AI and Lingmo’s custom built translation software, our service can detect many nuances, slang and dialects.

  • Lingmo Translate will translate instantly but needs an active internet connection. For faster translation a good internet connection must be present ideally 4G or 5G, Wi-Fi or inserting Lingmo Travel SIM data into your device if you are travelling internationally.

  • No, Lingmo software will only work online. We don’t offer offline translation because the translation quality is poor and not accurate.

  • Refunds for Lingmo Translate are governed by the app store (iOS or Android). You can view the refund policies on their respective websites

Time2Translate Smartwatch

  • Lingmo Time2Translate is a Realtime translation smartwatch that allows face to face conversations to be translated between different languages. The smartwatch owner uses the smartwatch as a portable translator by directly speaking into the smartwatch and hearing the translation played from the smartwatch. The other person can then reply by speaking into the smartwatch. The smartwatch come with 29 languages and 100’s of language pairs.

  • Time2Translate Smartwatch translates between two languages. On the smartwatch after selecting the desired languages from our 29 languages, the smartwatch is ready to translate. The user presses on the screen of the watch, speaks, releases their finger and the translation is played from the smartwatch. The other person can reply by pressing the smartwatch screen, talking and then release their finger from the screen to play the translation in the first users’ language.

  • Yes. Time2Translate is build by Lingmo and leverages IBM Watson from the IBM Cloud. The AI makes the translation contextually accurate, detects nuances and dialects and the AI becomes smarter the more it is used.

  • Both the smartwatches can translate between 29 languages. The lifestyle smartwatch has a camera and a slightly smaller battery than the Executive. The Executive has stainless steel case, a leather strap and larger battery capacity. It also has a secondary translation software that allows users to send voice messages to other users who speak a different language and the voice messages are translated into the other users’ languages before they arrive in their inbox. The software called Talk2You can be used between users anywhere in the world.

  • No. Time2Translate works independently from a smartphone and therefore doesn’t need a smartphone or app to work. Time2Translate is operated on an Android operating system and has a SIM port in the rear of the Smartwatch. The smartwatch can use a SIM card or be operated directly from an active WI-FI connection.

  • No. You will need a Nano SIM compatible to the country you are in. Why not purchase our Lingmo Travel SIM that works in over 190 countries and gives you incredibly low international roaming rates? Learn more about Lingmo Travel SIM here.

  • Time2Translate was designed so the user did not have to rely on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity to operate. A SIM Card provides faster translation time however if you are in an area with strong internet connection service the earpieces will also work well with WIF-FI.

  • The translation will happen in Realtime depending on the internet connection. For the best results, we recommend using a SIM Card.

  • No, Time2Translate requires an active internet connection.

  • Time2Translate has a 12-month manufacture warranty.

Translate One2One Earpiece

  • Lingmo Translate One2One is a translation earpiece that allows face to face conversations to be translated between 2 languages. Users each have an earpiece and can speak in their own native language with translations happening between users in Realtime.

  • Translate One2One works by translating between two languages. After selecting the desired languages from our 29 languages, the earpieces are placed on each user’s head. The user then taps the earpiece screen, speaks, releases their finger and the translation is played in the foreign speaking person’s earpiece. They can reply by pressing their screen, speaking and releasing their finger from the screen to send the translation to the other person.

  • After you have pressed the flag you will hear a beep which is the prompt to start speaking. You will have approx. 2 seconds after the beep to start speaking. If you take longer than 2 seconds to start your conversation, simply repeat the process within the given timeframe.

  • The secondary user will hear the conversation through their earpiece and can reply by touching their screen and speaking. The secondary person will need to be standing within one metre of the primary user.

  • Translate One2One allows users to use the earpieces around the world however due to different frequencies the primary earpiece can only be used to enable the function of translation. The earpiece marked with 1900 sticker is the primary earpiece to use with a SIM if you are in the Western Hemisphere. The earpiece without the sticker is for primary use in Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.

    The secondary earpiece is connected via Bluetooth to the primary earpiece and doesn’t require a SIM card.

    Only the primary earpiece requires a SIM Card.

  • No. You will need a Micro SIM compatible to the country you are in. The Micro SIM dimension is 12mm x 15mm. Why not purchase our Lingmo Travel SIM that works in over 190 countries and gives you incredibly low international roaming rates? Learn more about Lingmo Travel SIM here.

  • Translate One2One was designed so the user did not have to rely on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity to operate. A SIM Card provides faster translation time however if you are in an area with strong internet connection service the earpieces will also work well with WIF-FI.

  • No. The Translate One2One earpieces are independent from a smart phone or app and work off a mobile SIM card instead. The earpiece needs an active connectivity to work. It can not be used offline.

  • From time to time, Lingmo International will send software updates as and when they become available. These updates can be done by following the prompts.
